About Red Sun Karate

Welcome to RED SUN SHOTOKAN KARATE®. Red Sun Shotokan Karate offers a safe, friendly and disciplined environment to learn the traditional Japanese martial art of Shotokan Karate.

Welcome to Red Sun Shotokan Karate. We are a small friendly Karate club based in Coppull near Chorley who practice the Traditional Style of Shotokan Karate. We are members of the Yanagi Kai Karate Association, the English Karate National Governing Body (EKNGB), and the World Karate Federation (WKF). The W.K.F. are the only World Governing Body for Karate recognised by the International Olympic Committee. Our doors are open to members of all ages as well as any Karate practitioners who wish to train in a friendly, disciplined environment.

The BKF is set-up as a democratically elected body for British Karate to cover the whole spectrum of our martial art and to further develop an understanding administration.

Yanagi Kai Karate Association

Red Sun Shotokan Karate are members of The Yanagi Kai Karate Association. Formed in 2011, Yanagi Kai is one of the newest members of the E.K.F. but boasts a wealth of experience in multiple styles including Shotokan, Shito-Ryu and Wado-Ryu.

Red Sun Shotokan Karate are affiliated with S.K.O. The aim of SKO is to promote Shotokan Karate-Do at national and international level, to create a good bond between the practitioners and to increase the technical level.

FAQ

Do I have to be in shape to get started?

Not at all. You’ll find that our classes for beginners are the perfect way to build up your overall fitness level regardless of your physical condition. Good luck!

Visitors are welcome, but why not take advantage of our free taster session and get involved.

We have a mixture of both male and female students that range from 5 years of age to adult. Your first four lessons are absolutely free.

Not only does our club have regular training sessions, we also have regular courses and events that are open to all students no matter what age or grade. If you have a competitive nature, we also participate in regular competitions were students may compete against students from other clubs and associations.
